Xiaodong Xie

Male pop singer from mainland China

Jie Xiaodong, born in 1968 in Bengbu, Anhui, comes from an artistic family and graduated from Anhui Provincial Art School. In 1990, he won the third prize and the title of "Most Popular Singer" at the "Wuzhou Cup Youth Singer Grand Prix". Afterwards, he appeared on the CCTV Spring Festival Gala 14 times and rose to fame with his performance on "I'm So Happy Today". He released albums such as "Wind" and "Cherish", won many music awards, and also ventured into film, television, and variety shows, actively participating in public welfare.

In 1990, Jie Xiaodong performed "I Don't Know the Wind" at the "Wuzhou Cup Youth Singer Grand Prix" hosted by CCTV, and was named the "Most Popular Singer" for his outstanding performance.

In 1991, he participated in the CCTV Spring Festival Gala for the first time and sang the song "Common World" with Cheng Fangyuan and Si Nong Siyu. From then until 2010, he appeared on the CCTV Spring Festival Gala stage a total of 14 times.

In 1994, he released his debut music album "Feng · Do You Want to Leave Me.

In 1995, he became famous for singing the song "I'm so happy today" on the CCTV Spring Festival Gala.

In 1998, he was selected as one of the "Four Great Song Kings" in the Chinese pop music industry, which is the favorite of the Golden Dragon King Cup audience.

In 2000, the single "Believe" won the 5th China Original Song Award on Liaoning Literature and Art Channel.

In 2006, after a three-year and eight month hiatus from the music industry, he made a comeback and participated in the "Dance Forest Conference" organized by Shanghai Oriental TV, winning the championship of the annual finals and the title of "Dance Forest Alliance Leader".  

On June 27, 2007, he returned to the music industry with his music album "Opening the Curtain".

In 2008, participated in the "Ode to Reform and Opening up" cultural performance and sang the song "I'm So Happy Today".  

In 2010, attending the BQ2010 Red List Awards ceremony held in Beijing, the single "Sunshine of Life" won the "Annual Public Welfare Song Award".

In 2020, participated in the 2020 CCTV Mid Autumn Festival Gala and sang the song "A Thousand Years at a Glance" with Jiang Shuying.

In 2022, he participated in the "2022 Hunan Satellite TV Yuanxiao (Filled round balls made of glutinous rice-flour for Lantern Festival) Evening Party" and performed the song and dance "Happy Today" with Brigitte.

On February 8, 2024, participated in the "2024 Anhui TV Spring Festival Gala" and performed the song and dance "Unresolved Fate".
